Häfen Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH relocates its administrative headquarters
After around 60 years, Häfen Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH is relocating its administrative headquarters to its own port-owned building at Rheinpromenade 12 in Ludwigshafen, thereby taking a further step in its structural and organizational development. “With the new office space, we are providing our employees with a more modern and efficiently designed working environment, thereby enhancing our attractiveness as an employer,” said Managing Director Alexander Voigt.
Until now, the port company’s headquarters had been located at a height of approximately 60 meters in a high-rise building at Zollhofstraße 4, constructed in 1967 and used predominantly for residential purposes. Most recently, the premises no longer met the company’s requirements, also due to the interim growth in staff.
The ports form a key foundation for supply security in the region and for connecting companies to international markets. In addition, they make a decisive contribution to relieving road traffic and reducing environmental impact, thus representing a crucial location factor. The central importance of the ports for the region is currently also being examined in an expert study commissioned by the Rhine-Neckar and Palatinate Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The results will be presented at the “Hafenforum 26” on 24 April 2026 from 10:00 a.m. at the premises of the IHK Mannheim.
The new office address at Rheinpromenade also houses the East Asia Institute (OAI) of Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, headed by Prof. Dr. Frank Rövekamp. “The OAI’s focus on the economies, cultures, and languages of East Asia fits perfectly with internationally operating freight shipping – we are therefore very much looking forward to this new neighborhood as well,” said Voigt.
The first working day at the new location will be 20 April 2026.
