Port of Ludwigshafen
The Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region
is one of Germany’s leading logistics hubs, with the Port of Ludwigshafen serving as a key pillar of regional and supra-regional freight handling.
The Rhine port comprises the sub-ports Nordhafen, Stromhafen, Luitpoldhafen, Mundenheimer Altrheinhafen, and Kaiserwörthhafen. Based on current cargo handling volumes, the Port of Ludwigshafen ranks among the top five inland ports in Germany.
As a multifunctional logistics hub, the port is seamlessly integrated into national and international supply chains. Its high-performance trimodal container terminal enables efficient handling and distribution via water, rail, and road, ensuring maximum flexibility and connectivity.

In addition, the Port of Ludwigshafen is home to one of the most modern and secure tank vessel ports in Europe, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure for the handling of liquid goods under the highest safety standards.
Its role as a logistics hub at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar rivers, combined with excellent connections to the national road and rail networks, makes the Port of Ludwigshafen an attractive location for both logistics service providers and manufacturing companies operating in global markets.
